Sell my Tesla / Model 3

Sell your Tesla Model 3

The UK’s most traded Tesla, and the one where specification separates two cars of the same age by thousands. We value Model 3 on variant, wheels, software and condition — not just year and mileage.

How it works
White Tesla Model 3

Model 3 is the car we see most, which cuts both ways for a seller. Supply is high, so condition and specification do more of the work than they would on a rarer model. Two 2021 Long Range cars with the same mileage can sit thousands apart on wheel condition, paint condition and whether the software options transfer.

The 2021 update is the dividing line most sellers underestimate. Heat pump, powered boot and the revised interior changed how buyers treat the car, and the used market prices pre- and post-update Model 3 separately.

Start with your registration and we will pull up your Model 3 before asking anything else, or read how a Tesla valuation is built first.

01  Generations

Not every Model 3 is the same car.

Model year changes what a car is worth. We value the generation you actually own, not a range average.

Pre-Highland (2019–2023)

The original UK Model 3. Chrome trim on the earliest cars, then the 2021 update brought the heat pump, powered boot and revised interior. Buyers treat 2021-on cars noticeably differently.

Highland (2024 onwards)

The comprehensive refresh: new front and rear lighting, revised interior, indicator stalk changes and improved refinement. A different car to value.

02  Variants

Model 3 variants we buy

Every variant in the range, valued against its own market.

RWD

Standard Range rear-wheel drive. The volume car, and the one where condition matters most because supply is highest.

Long Range AWD

Dual motor. Consistently the strongest residual across the range.

Performance

Track mode, uprated brakes and 20-inch wheels. Wheel and tyre condition carries more weight here.

03  Wheels

Model 3 wheels, and what they cost you

Wheel condition is the most under-declared item on a Model 3. Here is what we look at on each fitment.

18-inch Aero

The efficiency wheel. Aero covers are frequently missing on used cars — tell us if yours are absent, it is a small deduction rather than a problem.

19-inch Sport

The middle option. Check the inner rim lip, which kerbs before the face does.

20-inch Überturbine

Performance fitment. Tyre cost is high, so remaining tread carries more weight in the valuation than on the smaller wheels.

04  Valuation factors

What moves a Model 3 valuation

The six things a specialist checks on a Model 3 that a generalist usually will not.

  • 01
Wheels18-inch Aero, 19-inch Sport or 20-inch Überturbine. Kerb damage is the single most under-declared item on a Model 3.
  • 02
SoftwareEnhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving capability. We ask whether it transfers rather than assuming either way.
  • 03
BatteryWarranty position against age and mileage, and any replacement or service history.
  • 04
PaintWhite is the volume colour, so paint condition is scrutinised more closely than on rarer finishes.
  • 05
InteriorBlack or white. White interiors are valued on condition — bolster wear and staining are visible.
  • 06
GenerationPre-Highland and Highland cars sit in different parts of the market.
05  Preparation

What to have ready for a Model 3

Nothing complicated, but these are the items most often missing at collection.

Aero covers

If you removed them, find them. They belong with the car.

Charging cable

The mobile connector supplied with the car.

Both key cards

Most Model 3s came with two. Missing cards are replaceable but noted.

Service history

Any Tesla service centre or approved bodyshop work.

07  Questions

Common questions

Straight answers to what Tesla owners actually ask us before selling.

How much is my Tesla Model 3 worth?
A Model 3 valuation depends on the variant, model year, mileage, wheel size and condition, whether software options transfer, and current used EV demand. We give a figure based on your specific car rather than a generic trade guide.
Do you buy Model 3 Performance cars?
Yes. Performance cars are valued on the same basis as the rest of the range, with extra attention to wheel, tyre and brake condition.
Does Full Self-Driving add value to a Model 3?
It depends on whether the package transfers with the car. We check the position on your vehicle rather than assuming it adds or adds nothing.
Can I sell a Model 3 that is still on finance?
Yes, provided your lender’s settlement requirements are met. We handle eligible PCP and HP settlement as part of the purchase.
